Ms. Tan Ying Wee graduated from the University of London (Queen Mary & Westfield College) with Second Class Honours in 1994. She was called to the English Bar and was conferred the title Barrister-At-Law (Middle Temple) in 1995. She was called to the Singapore Bar in 1996.
Ms. Tan commenced practice as a legal assistant with Messrs. William Lai & Alan Wong in 1996 until until 31 January 2003. She became a director WLAW LLC from 1st February 2003 when Messrs. William Lai & Alan Wong was corporatised. Ms Tan joined Legalworks Law Corporation as a legal assistant on 1 April 2010.
Ms. Tan’s areas of practice include:-
- sale and purchase of properties by individuals, corporations and companies, including residential, commercial, industrial, HDB, HUDC and JTC properties, both completed properties and properties under construction;
- acting for financial institutions, both local and foreign, in the mortgage, mortgagee sale, refinancing, additional facilities and redemption of properties and in the preparation of security documents relating thereto and other banking related matters;
- representing members in applications for use of CPF monies towards purchase and mortgage of properties;
- acting for the developers in the sale of properties and in the preparation of documents relating thereto and attending launches of development projects, both local and overseas;
- carrying out general solicitors’ work including drafting of wills, deed polls, power of attorneys, tenancy agreements, license agreements, assignment of rental proceeds, contracts of employment and other agreements;
